Bacán Cantina
The creation of Bacán Cantina stems from the branding foundations established by its sister restaurant, Quince. Known for its rich culinary fusion, merging flavors from New Orleans, Lima, New York, and Mexico City, Bacán elevates this identity with a refreshed focus. The name Bacán is a Spanish expression meaning "delightful,” reflecting the experience the cantina aims to offer: one of refined enjoyment, high-end Latin cuisine, and a vibrant, semi-formal atmosphere where culture meets culinary craft.

From Restaurant to Cantina
This new chapter brings a subtle shift in energy. While retaining its elegance, Bacán embraces the warmth and rhythm of a Latin cantina, a place of connection, flavor, and mood. The aesthetic transformation is reflected in both its indoor and outdoor environments, captured through professional photography that highlights the balance between modern minimalism and inviting vibrance. The focus on Latin-inspired seafood brings freshness to the menu, while the overall vibe remains clean, elevated, and aesthetically cohesive.
The Essence of Bacán
In Spanish, Bacán is synonymous with terms like “estupendo” and “excelente.” This meaning is carried through in every design detail, from the logo to the space. The visual identity is built around a contrast of curved and linear lines, harmonized by a consistent line weight and thoughtful spacing, creating a sense of proportion and sophistication. As an extension of the brand, eco-friendly tote bags were designed featuring playful text like “cantina, nena,” blending style with sustainability. The bags mirror the look and feel of the restaurant, chic, approachable, and refined. The color palette is composed of soft whites, greys, and blues, with delicate touches of accent colors like pink-orange and fresh greens, visually tying the brand to its flavorful roots.
Menu Design: A Refreshed Classic
The menu design maintains the original structure but introduces refined adjustments to reflect Bacán’s cantina identity. Photographed on location at the Quince restaurant in Fort Worth, with the generous support of the restaurant manager, the shoot showcases highlights like two signature cocktails and artfully plated sushi. The layout is clean and modern, featuring a two-column structure that organizes offerings into categories such as starters, salads, entrées, and fried specialties. The design emphasizes clarity and style, ensuring the food speaks for itself while aligning with the cantina’s elevated tone.
